Mart Sander became well known to the public at the age of 17, as the lead singer of the dance band „Modern Fox" and as a radio voice. At the same time he began performing at the Estonian National Opera. His international career took off a few years later. Throughout the nineties, Mart Sander hosted several TV and radio shows, acted in films, recorded in studios and toured around Europe. In the new millennium, he has once again become more involved with the musical theatre, performing and directing both in Estonia and in the UK. He has released more than 20 albums in Estonia, the UK, Finland, Russia and Germany, played in 7 films and directed 3 others, and published three novels in English. He is currently directing at the Estonian National Opera. An avid art collector and painter, he owns an art gallery on the Sakala street in Tallinn and has, since 2008, presented a personal exhibition annually. Whereas the first two exhibitions were dedicated to the art of portraiture and the mythological subjects, his third collection consists of the views of the Old Town of Tallinn.
„This is how I see my home town in her grayish, cool light, slushy snow and brief summer. I feel the closest to Tallinn, when her streets are empty, when you can't tell, whether it's the spring or the autumn, the dawn or the dusk."
